Summer Procrastination

My goal for this summer was to reteach myself what little I knew about drawing. It's mid-August, and the only time I've picked up a pencil in the last few months was to work the occasional sudoku puzzle. So, obvious fail on that one. But I did spend an hour today cutting out pictures from several months' worth of Entertainment Weekly magazines for muse purposes. We'll see if anything comes of it. Maybe, maybe not; but at least it was a step in the process, right?

I'm going with my friend to one of the art studios on campus tomorrow night so she won't be in the building alone. I got all excited about drawing and then remembered that (I'm pretty sure) my charcoal is at my Dad's house 50 miles away. I was really looking forward to using them again. Sadness.

Actually I've heard a lot from Z. She was kind enough to let me rent a bedroom from her while I look for a teaching position down here. She had a bit of a week this week, but is on the mend. I'll tell her you said hi.

She's doing better. She had a surgery to repair a blocked tear duct on Wednesday. So as long as she has Vicodin in her system, she's doing great. And we're hope you are too (with or without drugs).
